Novilla vs Amazon Basics Specs
Thickness and Profile
The Novilla Bliss comes in at 12 inches thick, offering a substantial profile that many sleepers prefer for deeper cushioning. It measures 54 inches wide and 75 inches long for the full size. In contrast, the Amazon Basics mattress is significantly slimmer at 8 inches thick. Its dimensions are 60 inches wide and 80 inches long, fitting the standard queen size. If you want a taller, more luxurious feel, the Novilla provides more height. However, if you prefer a lower profile or have specific bed frame constraints, the Amazon Basics 8-inch model is a more compact choice.
Firmness and Feel
Firmness levels differ between these two options. The Amazon Basics model is explicitly described as having a plush feel, designed to adapt to body contours and conform to different sleeping positions. This suggests a softer, more yielding surface. The Novilla Bliss focuses on pressure relief and spinal alignment through its three-layer foam design. While it uses NanoGel memory foam for contouring, it also includes a dedicated support layer to distribute weight evenly and ease tension. Novilla does not label its firmness level directly, but the emphasis on support and alignment suggests a balanced feel rather than pure plushness. Your preference for sinkage versus support will determine which feels better.
Cooling and Cover
Temperature regulation is a key differentiator. The Novilla Bliss features a soft knitted cover made from breathable knit fabric. It also includes NanoGel memory foam, which is designed to dissipate heat and minimize moisture buildup, making it suitable for hot sleepers. The comfort foam layer is infused with plant-infused fiber to help absorb odors. The Amazon Basics mattress has a breathable design with a soft punched-foam middle layer for airflow and a wavy hard foam bottom layer for added ventilation. It also has an Oeko-Tex certified fabric cover. While both promote breathability, the Novilla explicitly targets heat dissipation with gel-infused foam and specialized knit fabric.
Certifications and Safety
Both mattresses prioritize material safety through recognized certifications. The Novilla Bliss is CertiPUR-US certified, ensuring the foam is made without harmful substances. It also holds ACA certification for skin safety standards on the cover and ISPA certification for quality and durability compliance. The Amazon Basics mattress is CertiPUR-US certified for the foam and features an Oeko-Tex certified fabric cover, which verifies materials and manufacturing independently. Both meet rigorous standards for safe sleep environments. The Novilla offers an additional layer of verification with ISPA and ACA certifications, while Amazon Basics relies on the widely recognized Oeko-Tex standard for its textile cover.
Edge Support and Motion Isolation
Durability and partner disturbance are handled differently. The Novilla Bliss highlights reinforced edge support to help you feel stable and prevent rolling off the side. Its triple-layer construction is designed to absorb motion at every level, reducing movement transfer for minimal disruption when sleeping with a partner. The Amazon Basics mattress description does not mention specific edge support reinforcement or motion isolation capabilities. It focuses on the three-layer design for comfort and airflow. If you sit on the edge of your bed often or share your sleep space, the Novilla provides explicit features for stability and quietness that are not detailed in the Amazon Basics specifications.
Which mattress fits your sleep needs
Hot sleepers wanting deep cushioning
The Novilla Bliss features NanoGel memory foam designed to dissipate heat and minimize moisture buildup. Its 12-inch profile and breathable knit cover provide superior cooling for those who sleep warm. The reinforced edge support also adds stability, making it a practical choice for side or back sleepers who need ample surface area and temperature control.
Guest room or budget setup
The Amazon Basics mattress offers a compact 8-inch height and plush feel, ideal for guest rooms or tighter spaces. Its three-layer design includes a wavy hard foam bottom for added airflow and support. The Oeko-Tex certified cover ensures skin safety, while the lower profile makes it easy to move and set up in any bedroom environment.
Couples needing motion isolation
Novilla’s triple-layer construction absorbs motion at every level, reducing movement transfer across the mattress surface. This feature helps minimize disruption when a partner moves during the night. The 12-inch gel memory foam also contours to your body, providing balanced support and pressure relief, which enhances restful sleep for couples sharing a full-sized bed.
Sleepers preferring a softer feel
Amazon Basics provides a plush-feeling memory foam top that adapts to body contours and conforms to different sleeping positions. The soft punched-foam middle layer enhances breathability without sacrificing comfort. This 8-inch queen mattress delivers a gentle, cloud-like experience for those who prefer a softer surface over the firmer, more structured support of thicker foam models.
