Novilla vs FDW: Key Differences
Thickness and Size
You start with the physical dimensions, which differ significantly between these two models. The Novilla Bliss is a full-size mattress measuring 12 inches thick, with dimensions of 54 by 75 inches. It weighs 45.1 pounds. In contrast, the FDW model is a twin-size mattress at 10 inches thick, measuring 39 by 75 inches. It weighs 36 pounds. Both share the same 75-inch length, but the Novilla offers a wider sleeping surface and greater height. The FDW is narrower and shorter in profile. If you need a wider bed for a partner, the Novilla full size is the practical choice. If space is limited, the FDW twin fits tighter areas.
Mattress Construction
The internal layering structures are distinct for each brand. The Novilla Bliss uses a three-layer foam design. It combines NanoGel memory foam with comfort and support layers to distribute weight and relieve pressure. This multi-layer approach aims to balance contouring with structural stability. The FDW mattress uses a dual-layer construction. It features a 2.5-inch layer of gel memory foam resting on a 7.5-inch high-density base support foam core. This simpler two-part build focuses on a clear separation between the soft top comfort layer and the firm base. You get different feels based on how many layers are present. The Novilla offers more complexity, while the FDW offers a straightforward two-tier setup.
Firmness and Support
Firmness levels and support styles vary between these options. The FDW mattress is explicitly rated as medium firm. It is designed to provide balanced firmness for back, side, or stomach sleepers, ensuring proper alignment regardless of your preferred sleeping position. The Novilla Bliss does not list a specific firmness rating in its specifications. Instead, it focuses on pressure relief and spinal alignment through its three-layer foam design. It aims to ease tension on key pressure points like the back and hips. While the FDW gives you a clear firmness expectation, the Novilla emphasizes contouring and weight distribution. You should choose based on whether you prefer a defined firmness level or a contouring feel.
Cooling and Cover
Both mattresses address temperature regulation, but they use different materials. The Novilla Bliss features a soft knitted cover made from breathable knit fabric. It uses NanoGel memory foam to dissipate heat and minimize moisture buildup. The comfort foam also includes plant-infused fiber to absorb odors. The FDW mattress uses ventilated gel foam to enhance airflow and regulate temperature. Its cover is soft, breathable, and removable, allowing you to unzip and machine wash it for hygiene. The Novilla cover is not described as removable, while the FDW offers easy maintenance through washability. If you prioritize odor control and cooling, Novilla highlights plant-infused fibers. If you want a washable cover, FDW provides that convenience.
Certifications
Safety and quality certifications differ in scope. The Novilla Bliss holds three certifications: CertiPUR-US, ACA, and ISPA. The CertiPUR-US certification ensures the foam is made without harmful substances. The ACA and ISPA certifications verify compliance with international sleep product standards for quality and durability. The FDW mattress carries the CertiPUR-US certification, confirming it is made without harmful chemicals, heavy metals, or ozone depleters. It focuses on health and safety standards. The Novilla offers additional verification through ISPA and ACA, which may indicate broader quality testing. The FDW meets the essential CertiPUR-US standard. If you value multiple independent quality seals, the Novilla has the edge. If you only require the standard foam safety check, both are sufficient.
