Novilla vs Zinus: Key Specs Compared
Thickness and height
The Novilla Bliss stands 12 inches tall, offering a substantial profile for full-size sleepers. This height allows for a deeper comfort layer and more pronounced contouring. In contrast, the Zinus Green Tea model is 8 inches high. While still a full-size bed, the reduced height means less total foam depth. You get a lower profile with Zinus, which may sit closer to the bed frame. The Novilla’s extra four inches provide more material for pressure relief and spinal alignment. If you prefer a deeper, plush feel, the taller Novilla has the advantage. The Zinus remains a compact option for those who want a simpler setup.
Mattress construction layers
Novilla uses a three-layer foam design to balance support and comfort. It combines NanoGel memory foam with a dedicated support layer and a comfort layer. This structure aims to distribute weight evenly and ease tension on hips and back. Zinus also employs a multi-layer approach but specifies its build differently. It features two inches of conforming memory foam, two inches of soft airflow-enhancing comfort foam, and a four-inch high-density base support foam. The Zinus construction prioritizes a durable base with specific airflow benefits in the comfort layer. Both designs use foam cores, but Novilla highlights its gel infusion while Zinus emphasizes its high-density base support.
Cover material and cooling
Novilla includes a soft knitted cover made from breathable knit fabric. This material helps keep the sleep surface cool and works with the NanoGel memory foam to dissipate heat. The cover is also designed to absorb odor, contributing to a fresh sleep experience. Zinus does not specify a unique cover material in the provided data, focusing instead on the foam infusion. The Zinus Green Tea mattress relies on moisture-absorbing ActivCharcoal and green tea infused into the foam itself for freshness and pressure relief. Without a specific breathable knit description for Zinus, the Novilla offers a clearer cooling advantage through its cover and gel-infused foam combination.
Certifications and safety
Both mattresses prioritize safety through recognized certifications. The Novilla Bliss is CertiPUR-US certified, ensuring the foam is made without harmful substances. It also holds ACA certification for pressure relief and spinal alignment, plus ISPA certification for quality and durability standards. Zinus is CertiPUR-US certified as well, meeting standards for durability, performance, and content. While both meet the core safety baseline, Novilla provides additional verification through ACA and ISPA labels. These extra certifications suggest a broader range of tested performance metrics for Novilla. Zinus relies on the single, widely recognized CertiPUR-US standard for its foam quality assurance.
Special features and support
Novilla highlights reinforced edge support to prevent rolling off the side, along with motion isolation to reduce partner disruption. The gel memory foam targets hot sleepers specifically. Zinus focuses on pressure relief for back sleepers and average-weight individuals, using its specific foam recipe for rejuvenating rest. The Zinus model does not explicitly mention edge support or motion isolation features in the provided data. Novilla’s inclusion of reinforced edges and motion isolation offers more defined performance claims for shared sleeping arrangements. Zinus remains a straightforward pressure-relief option without these specific structural or motion-focused features listed.
Which full mattress fits your sleep needs
Hot sleepers wanting deep pressure relief
The Novilla Bliss features 12 inches of height with a dedicated NanoGel memory foam comfort layer. This gel-infused foam dissipates heat and minimizes moisture buildup, which helps keep you cool. The breathable knit fabric cover adds to this cooling effect. The three-layer foam design targets spinal alignment and eases tension on hips and backs, making it ideal for those who sleep warm.
Budget-focused sleepers preferring lighter weight
The Zinus Green Tea model stands at 8 inches thick and weighs only 36.7 pounds. This makes it significantly easier to maneuver and set up in a bedroom. It uses a simpler three-layer foam construction with green tea and ActivCharcoal infused into the memory foam. This setup provides basic pressure relief for back sleepers and average-weight individuals without the bulk of thicker options.
Couples needing motion isolation
The Novilla Bliss is built with a triple-layer construction designed to absorb motion at every level. This reduces movement transfer across the mattress, minimizing disruption when a partner moves. It also includes reinforced edge support, which helps you feel stable along the sides. This combination of motion isolation and edge stability supports restful sleep for partners sharing a full-size bed.
