Who it fits
Good fit for
This mattress suits back and side sleepers who need a balance of contouring and support. The medium firm feel and 7-zone design help align the spine. Couples benefit from the motion isolation provided by the pocketed coils. Those who sleep hot may appreciate the gel-infused foam. The reinforced edges help people who sit on the bed or prefer sleeping near the side. It works well with most bed frames, including box springs and slatted bases.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you prefer a plush, sinking feel. This bed is medium firm, not soft. If you need a taller profile, note that a 10-inch version exists. However, the 12-inch height is standard for this model. People who want a very quiet, foam-only feel might find the springs too responsive. Also, allow 24 to 48 hours for full expansion after unboxing. It is not suitable if you need immediate use right out of the box.
Verdict: The Povirt Full 12-Inch Hybrid Mattress offers solid support and motion isolation for a balanced sleep experience. It is a practical choice for couples and those who prefer a medium firm feel.
Key specs for this hybrid mattress
Size: Full
This mattress measures 54 inches wide and 75 inches long. It fits standard full-size bed frames, box springs, or slatted bases. The width suits one adult comfortably or two smaller sleepers who do not mind closer contact. If you need more side-to-side space, consider a Queen size. The length accommodates most adults, though taller individuals may find their feet hang slightly over the edge.
Thickness: 12 in
The bed stands 12 inches tall from the floor. This profile provides enough depth for multiple comfort layers while maintaining a stable center of gravity. It sits higher than low-profile foam beds, making it easier to get in and out of bed. The height also allows for good airflow underneath the mattress. You can place it on most standard bed frames without needing special low-clearance hardware.
Firmness: Medium Firm
This rating targets a balanced feel that is neither too soft nor too hard. It offers enough cushion to relieve pressure points while providing a solid base for spinal alignment. This firmness level works well for back and stomach sleepers who need support, as well as side sleepers who want moderate contouring. If you prefer a plush, sinking sensation, look for a Soft rating instead.
Mattress Construction: Hybrid
The build combines gel memory foam with individually pocketed springs. This hybrid design aims to merge the pressure-relieving comfort of foam with the responsive support and airflow of coils. The foam layer conforms to your body shape, while the springs prevent excessive sagging. This combination typically offers better temperature regulation than all-foam beds and more bounce than pure memory foam models.
Design and build overview
The Povirt Full 12-Inch Hybrid Mattress is built with a two-layer construction. The comfort layer uses gel memory foam. This material responds slowly to pressure, which allows it to cradle your body contours. Beneath this foam lies the support core. It consists of hundreds of individually pocketed springs. These coils work independently to provide targeted support. This hybrid design aims to balance body contouring with structural stability. You get the pressure relief of foam with the lift of springs.
According to the listing, this model measures 12 inches in height. It is 54 inches wide and 75 inches long. The total weight is 67 pounds. This size fits standard full-size bed frames, including box springs, flat frames, and metal bases. The grey and black colorway is available in this configuration. The mattress arrives compressed in a box. You must unroll it and allow 24 to 48 hours for full expansion. This method simplifies transport through narrow hallways and staircases.
The listing notes a 7-zone ergonomic support system. This feature targets key areas like the lumbar and hips to align your spine. It also mentions reinforced edge support. This design is intended to create more usable sleep surface and prevent roll-off. The cover is free from fiberglass and harmful chemicals. It holds CertiPUR-US and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certifications. These details suggest a focus on safety and durability for daily household use.
Setup and Everyday Use Guide
The Povirt Full 12-Inch Hybrid Mattress arrives compressed in a box, which simplifies the delivery process. You can place it directly on most bed frames, including box springs, flat frames, wooden bases, or metal structures. The unboxing process is straightforward. You simply remove the packaging and unroll the mattress onto your foundation. The foam begins to expand immediately as it is exposed to air. You will see the mattress regain its full 12-inch height and 67-pound structure over time. The listing advises allowing 24 to 48 hours for the mattress to fully expand and air out before you sleep on it. This waiting period ensures the gel memory foam and pocketed springs settle into their intended positions.
Daily use relies on the medium firm feel and the hybrid construction. The gel memory foam layer provides contouring support, while the individually pocketed springs offer targeted pressure relief. This combination helps align your spine across the seven ergonomic zones, from your head to your feet. The reinforced edge support creates up to 30% more usable sleep surface, preventing roll-off when you sit or sleep near the perimeter. The independent coil system isolates motion, so movement from a partner does not easily transfer across the bed. The CertiPUR-US and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certifications indicate the materials are free from harmful chemicals and fiberglass, making it suitable for all ages. This setup provides a stable, consistent sleep surface for regular nightly use.
Before You Buy This Mattress
You should verify your bed frame compatibility before purchasing. This Povirt Full mattress fits standard box springs, flat wooden frames, and metal structures. It requires a stable base to maintain its 12-inch height and structural integrity. Ensure your room has enough space for the 75-inch length and 54-inch width. You will need to allow 24 to 48 hours for the mattress to fully expand after unboxing. This waiting period is critical for the gel memory foam and pocketed springs to reach their intended shape. Keep the mattress clean by using a protector. The CertiPUR-US and Oeko-Tex certifications indicate safe materials, but regular care extends its life. When comparing this hybrid option to others in the 1 mattresses on this page, note its medium firm feel. It suits sleepers who want contouring without excessive sink. Check if your partner needs motion isolation, as the wrapped coils help reduce transfer. This model is one of four variations, including 10-inch and Queen sizes. Choose the size that matches your sleeping space and partner’s needs.
