Who it fits

Key specs explained for this mattress

Thickness: 13 inches

This height places the bed in the standard range for modern mattresses. You get enough layering for comfort without making the bed too high to climb into easily. When shopping, compare this to 10-inch models which may feel less substantial, or 15-inch models that require deeper sheets. The 13-inch profile supports the innerspring core and foam layers effectively.

Firmness: Soft

A soft rating means the surface yields to your body rather than pushing back. You will feel a plush, cushioned feel that relieves pressure on shoulders and hips. Side sleepers often prefer this level for proper spinal alignment. Compare this to firm models if you need rigid support, or medium options if you want a balance between contouring and lift.

Mattress Construction: Innerspring, tight top

Innerspring construction uses metal coils for durable support and airflow. The tight top design means the comfort layers are sewn flush with the coils, creating a flat, uniform surface. This style offers a traditional feel rather than a plush pillow-top. When comparing, note that tight tops often provide a more stable sleep surface than pillow-tops that add extra height.

Special Features: Individually encased coils

Each coil is wrapped in fabric, allowing it to move independently. This isolates motion, so you feel less disturbance when your partner shifts positions. It also helps the mattress contour to different body shapes. Compare this to continuous coil systems which transfer motion across the bed. This feature is valuable for couples sharing a twin long bed or sensitive sleepers.

Cover Material: MoistureProtect Cover

This cover is designed to wick moisture away from your body. It helps keep you dry and comfortable throughout the night by managing sweat and humidity. This feature adds a layer of climate control to your sleep environment. When shopping, compare this to standard polyester covers that may trap heat. Look for moisture-wicking properties if you tend to sleep hot.

Design and build details

The Sealy Fayette 13" Soft Twin Long mattress is a white innerspring unit with a tight top cover. According to the listing, it measures 13 inches in height, 38 inches in width, and 79 inches in length. The total weight is 47 pounds. This specific model is a Twin Long size, which is ideal for taller sleepers who need extra length without the bulk of a wider bed. The white finish is standard for innerspring beds and allows you to see the cover material clearly.

The construction uses individually encased coils within a Posturepedic Support System. This layout helps reduce motion transfer between partners. The Coil Edge feature reinforces the perimeter, providing a solid surface for sitting or sleeping near the edge. The MoistureProtect Cover is designed to wick moisture away from your body. This material choice supports temperature regulation by keeping the sleep surface dry throughout the night.

Certifications include CertiPUR-US, which ensures the foam components meet strict standards for content and emissions. The listing states the mattress is designed and built in the USA. This manufacturing origin suggests consistent quality control in assembly. The tight top design means the comfort layers are stitched directly to the support core. This creates a uniform feel without a pillow-top bump. You get a structured sleep surface that aligns with the soft firmness rating.

Setup and daily use guide

You will likely use the delivery service for setup. The listing notes that a dedicated local team places the mattress in your preferred room. They also remove your old unit upon request. This service handles the heavy lifting, which is helpful given the 47-pound weight of the Twin Long size. The bed measures 38 inches wide and 79 inches long, fitting standard twin long frames. You do not need to assemble the structure yourself. It arrives as a complete innerspring unit with a tight top cover.

Daily use involves sleeping on a soft surface. The PrecisionFit Coils adjust to your body shape. Because each coil is individually encased, you experience less motion transfer. This means movement from a partner stays localized. You stay cooler with the MoistureProtect Cover. This material wicks moisture away from your body. The Coil Edge reinforces the perimeter. This gives you a solid surface for sitting on the side of the bed.

The CertiPUR-US certification ensures the foam meets strict content and emissions standards. You sleep in a controlled environment. The mattress is designed for all sleep positions. You can change positions without worrying about support gaps. The tight top design keeps the surface smooth. You do not sink into deep memory foam. You get a balanced feel that supports your alignment while remaining soft. The white cover stays clean with the moisture-wicking feature. This setup requires minimal effort from you after delivery.

Before you buy this mattress

This Sealy Fayette 13" Soft Twin Long mattress fits standard Twin XL frames. Its 79-inch length requires a compatible foundation. You must verify that your existing bed frame supports a 47-pound innerspring unit. The Coil Edge reinforcement allows you to sit on the perimeter, but you should still avoid excessive weight on the corners. Because the cover wicks moisture, you can use a standard protector. However, the tight top design means you cannot flip the bed. You must rotate it head-to-foot every few months to ensure even wear. This soft firmness level suits side sleepers well. If you share your bed, the individually encased coils help reduce motion transfer. Compare this option with the Firm or Medium styles if you prefer a firmer surface. The CertiPUR-US foam layers ensure low emissions, which is good for indoor air quality. Keep the mattress away from direct sunlight to preserve the fabric integrity. This model is designed for all sleep positions, offering versatility for couples with different preferences.

Check before you buy

• Verify your bed frame fits the 79-inch Twin Long length.
• Ensure your foundation supports the 47-pound innerspring weight.
• Check if the soft feel matches your side sleeping needs.
• Confirm you can rotate the mattress head-to-foot regularly.
• Compare with Firm or Medium styles if you prefer less sink.
