Who it fits
Good fit for
This mattress suits side, back, and combination sleepers who want a medium feel. The memory foam contours to your shoulders, hips, and joints. It absorbs motion, which helps if you share the bed. The 12-inch height works well with platform beds, slatted frames, and adjustable bases. You can place it on existing setups without buying new frames. The cooling features help maintain comfort through the night.
Who should skip it
You might want another option if you prefer a firm or plush feel. This model is rated medium, which may not suit stomach sleepers who need more support. If you need a very thin mattress for a bunk bed, consider the 5-inch or 6-inch variants. The memory foam construction may feel too soft for those who like a traditional innerspring bounce. Heavy individuals might find the sinking sensation less supportive than a hybrid design.
Verdict: This mattress offers reliable cooling and pressure relief for side and back sleepers. Its medium feel and fiberglass-free design make it a practical choice for most bedrooms.
Zinus 12 Inch Full Cooling Key Specs
Size: Full
This mattress measures 54 inches wide by 75 inches long. The full size fits standard twin XL frames and offers more width than a twin. You get extra space for stretching out without requiring the floor area of a queen. It is a practical choice for guest rooms, youth bedrooms, or compact apartments where a larger footprint is not feasible.
Thickness: 12 in
The mattress stands 12 inches tall from the floor. This profile provides substantial cushioning layers for pressure relief while maintaining a stable base. A 12-inch height works well with most bed frames, including platform beds and slatted foundations. It ensures the mattress sits at a comfortable height for getting in and out of bed without feeling too low or excessively high.
Firmness: Medium
A medium firmness rating balances softness and support. The surface cushions pressure points at the shoulders and hips without allowing you to sink too deeply. This feel suits side sleepers who need contouring, as well as back and combination sleepers who require spinal alignment. It offers a versatile feel that avoids the extreme hardness of firm beds or the deep hug of plush models.
Mattress Construction: Memory foam
This bed uses memory foam layers to conform to your body shape. The material absorbs motion, which helps isolate movement between partners. It contours to your curves to reduce pressure points. Memory foam typically retains some heat, but this model includes cooling features to mitigate that effect. You get the classic pressure-relieving feel associated with foam beds rather than the bounce of springs.
Comfort Layer: Cooling gel memory foam
The top comfort layer contains gel-infused memory foam designed to pull heat away from your body. Gel beads help dissipate warmth, promoting a cooler sleep surface. This is beneficial if you tend to sleep hot or live in warmer climates. The cooling gel works alongside the breathable cover to enhance airflow. You benefit from reduced night sweats and a more comfortable temperature throughout the night.
