Who it fits

Key specs explained for this model

Thickness: 13 inches

This height provides substantial cushioning above the support core. You get enough material to sink in slightly for pressure relief without feeling like you are bottoming out on the coils. A 13-inch profile is common for hybrid mattresses, offering a balanced feel that suits most sleep positions. It ensures the foam layers have enough depth to contour effectively while maintaining structural integrity over time.

Firmness: Medium Firm

This rating indicates a balanced surface that is supportive but not hard. It prevents your hips from sinking too deeply, which helps keep your spine aligned. This feel is ideal for combination sleepers who change positions, as it allows for easier movement than soft mattresses. It also works well for heavier individuals who need more support to prevent sagging in the middle of the bed.

Mattress Construction: Hybrid, foams and coils

This design combines comfort layers with a support core of coils. The foams provide immediate pressure relief and contouring, while the coils offer bounce and airflow. This mix helps regulate temperature better than all-foam beds. You get the hug of memory foam with the durability and responsiveness of springs. This construction is standard for those wanting both comfort and long-term structural support.

Support Core: Heavy duty individually wrapped coils

These coils are encased in fabric pockets, allowing each one to move independently. This reduces motion transfer, so you feel less movement when your partner shifts. The heavy-duty nature suggests robust durability for long-term use. You get targeted support that adapts to your body shape, reducing pressure points. This feature is crucial for couples or restless sleepers who value undisturbed rest.

Design and build details

According to the listing, the Zinus 13 Inch Queen Cool Support Hybrid Mattress features a hybrid construction. This design blends foam comfort layers with a coil support core. The profile stands at 13 inches thick. This height offers substantial cushioning above the coils. You get enough material to sink in slightly for pressure relief without feeling like you are bottoming out on the support structure. The cover includes a quilted pillow top. This adds a plush layer of softness to the surface. Gel-infused memory foam sits beneath the cover to help relieve pressure points. It also promotes a cooler sleep environment by dissipating heat. The support core uses heavy-duty individually wrapped coils. These pocketed coils respond to your shape for better alignment. They also reduce motion transfer and provide long-lasting support. The model weighs 84.2 pounds. Its dimensions are 80 inches wide and 60 inches long. This size fits standard queen frames. The foam and fabric are CertiPUR-US and OEKO-TEX certified. These certifications indicate the materials meet specific safety and emissions standards. The mattress arrives compressed for simple setup. You unbox it and allow it to expand to its full 13-inch height. The white color matches most bedroom decor. The medium-firm feel balances support and comfort. This layout suits sleepers who want a stable surface. The coil core prevents excessive sinking. The foam layers cushion pressure points. The quilted top adds immediate softness. This build prioritizes durability and temperature regulation. The individual coils ensure the mattress maintains its shape over time. The certified foams reduce off-gassing concerns. This design focuses on practical comfort and support for nightly use.

Setup and daily use details

The mattress arrives compressed, which simplifies the initial setup process. You will need to unbox the unit and allow it to expand to its full 13-inch height. The listing notes this is a stress-free unboxing experience. Once expanded, the mattress is ready for use. It fits standard Queen bed frames, measuring 60 inches long and 80 inches wide. The total weight is 84.2 pounds, making it manageable for most adults to position without assistance.

For daily use, the medium-firm feel provides a balanced surface. This firmness level is designed to keep your spine aligned while offering enough cushioning to relieve pressure points. The hybrid construction plays a key role here. Individually wrapped coils respond to your body shape, reducing motion transfer. This means you are less likely to feel a partner moving during the night. The gel-infused memory foam works alongside the coils to manage heat. It helps dissipate warmth, promoting a cooler sleep environment.

The quilted pillow top adds a layer of softness on the surface. This feature enhances comfort without compromising the supportive core. The foam layers beneath are CertiPUR-US and OEKO TEX certified. This indicates the materials meet specific safety and content standards. You can use the mattress with any standard Queen bedding. The 10-year warranty provides long-term coverage for defects. The design ensures consistent support night after night.

Before you buy this hybrid

You need a sturdy foundation for this 84.2-pound hybrid. The 13-inch height requires a platform bed or adjustable base with sufficient clearance. Standard slats must be spaced no more than three inches apart to prevent sagging in the foam layers. You should verify that your box spring meets these requirements before purchase. This mattress sits alongside other hybrid options in the 1 product lineup. It offers a medium-firm feel, which suits those who prefer balanced support over plush sinking. The gel-infused foam and quilted pillow top manage heat better than all-foam models. You do not need a separate topper for initial comfort, as the listed layers provide cushioning. Keep the cover clean with mild detergent. The compressed packaging simplifies moving, but ensure your hallway allows for the 60-by-80-inch footprint. This model fits well in standard bedrooms where coil support is preferred for durability.

Check before you buy

• Check slat spacing is under three inches
• Verify bed frame clearance for 13-inch height
• Confirm room fits 60-by-80-inch footprint
• Ensure base supports 84.2-pound weight
