Who it fits
Good fit for
This mattress suits light to medium-weight sleepers who prefer a firmer surface. The 6-inch profile works well for bunk beds, guest rooms, or temporary setups. You will appreciate the medium firm feel if you need consistent support without deep sinkage. The king size accommodates couples who want a wider sleeping area on a budget. The CertiPUR-US certification is ideal for those concerned about chemical emissions in foam products. It is also a practical choice for anyone needing a lightweight mattress for easy moving.
Who should skip it
Heavier sleepers may find the 6-inch height insufficient for proper support. The medium firm feel might feel too hard for strict side sleepers who need more contouring. If you prefer a plush, deep-cradle sensation, this foam density may not deliver that experience. The simple poly jacquard cover lacks premium textures or cooling technologies found in higher-end models. You should look elsewhere if you desire a mattress with multiple distinct comfort layers or advanced cooling features.
Verdict: The Zinus 6-Inch King Green Tea Mattress offers a straightforward, firm sleep surface defined by its simple foam construction. It is a solid choice for those prioritizing value and support in a compact profile.
Key specs explained for this model
Thickness: 6 in
This mattress sits at a low profile, which fits standard bed frames without adding bulk. The 6-inch height makes it easy to change sheets and fits well in rooms with low clearance. You may prefer a thicker model if you want more cushioning or plan to place this on a floor platform. This dimension suits those seeking a simple, low-slung sleep surface.
Firmness: Medium Firm
The medium firm feel provides a balanced surface that supports your spine while offering slight contouring. This level works well for back and side sleepers who need support without feeling too hard. It avoids the sinkage of soft models while remaining softer than firm options. You get a stable surface that distributes weight evenly across the mattress body.
Mattress Construction: Memory foam
Memory foam conforms to your body shape, relieving pressure on joints like hips and shoulders. This material absorbs movement, which helps you stay asleep if you toss and turn. Unlike springs, it offers a consistent feel across the surface. You benefit from reduced pressure points, though the foam may retain more heat than innerspring designs.
Size: King
The king size offers ample space for two adults or a single sleeper who likes room to move. This width accommodates larger bodies or those who share the bed with pets. You get extra width compared to queen sizes, reducing the chance of disturbing a partner. It fits standard king bed frames and requires a spacious bedroom layout.
Certification: CertiPUR-US certified
This certification ensures the foam meets strict standards for content, emissions, and durability. You avoid exposure to harmful chemicals like formaldehyde or heavy metals. The foam is also free from ozone depleters and phthalates. This standard gives you confidence in the material safety and indoor air quality, making it a responsible choice for health-conscious buyers.
Design and build details
According to the listing, the Zinus 6-Inch King Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress uses a multi-layer foam construction. The comfort layer consists of green tea-infused memory foam. This material is designed to cradle your shape for pressure relief. The support core is made of high-density base foam. Activ charcoal is infused into the foam to help absorb moisture. You get a soft poly jacquard cover on top. The CertiPUR-US certification ensures the foam meets specific durability and content standards.
The mattress measures 76 inches wide by 80 inches long. It sits 6 inches high, which is a low profile. This thickness fits standard bed frames without adding bulk. The total weight is 41.7 pounds. The color is white. Because it is all-foam, there are no coils or springs. The design is simple, with no remote or app controls. The cover is not removable for washing.
This build suits you if you want a straightforward sleep surface. The low height makes sheet changing easier. It works well in rooms with limited vertical space. The green tea and charcoal additives are for freshness, not support. The medium firm feel provides a balanced surface. You can place it on a standard frame or a platform bed. The foam construction allows for some contouring. It does not have edge support rails. The design prioritizes basic comfort and value over complex features.
Setup and daily use guide
Setting up this mattress begins with unboxing the compressed package. You should carefully follow the installation manual provided by the manufacturer before use. The mattress expands as it rests on your bed frame. Allow time for the foam to reach its full 6-inch height. The listing specifies a weight of 41.7 pounds for the King size, which measures 76 inches wide and 80 inches long. This dimension fits standard King bed frames. You can place the mattress directly on a slatted base or a solid platform. The low profile ensures it sits comfortably within most headboards and footboards. The soft poly jacquard cover wraps the foam layers. This material is easy to spot clean, though the listing does not specify machine washing instructions. The green tea and Activ charcoal infusion targets freshness. These ingredients help manage odors in the foam. You do not need to flip the mattress, as the high density base foam provides permanent support. The CertiPUR-US certification confirms the foam meets safety standards for content and emissions. This gives you confidence in the air quality inside your bedroom. The medium firm feel offers a balanced surface. It is suitable for side, back, and stomach sleepers who want pressure relief. The memory foam conforms to your body shape. This reduces pressure points on hips and shoulders. You may notice a slight off-gassing smell initially, which is normal for new foam products. This scent dissipates as the mattress airs out. The white color of the cover matches most bedding styles. You can easily change sheets over the 6-inch height. The mattress does not require a box spring, though one can be used if preferred. The construction is designed for durability and long-term use.
Things to check before you buy
This 6-inch model sits low to the ground. You should verify that your bed frame or foundation can support a foam mattress of this height. Some slatted bases require slats no more than three inches apart to prevent sagging. Since the mattress weighs 41.7 pounds, consider whether you can lift it easily for sheet changes. The soft poly jacquard cover is not removable, so spot cleaning is your best option for upkeep. You may need deeper sheets to accommodate the lower profile comfortably. Compared to the 8, 10, or 12-inch versions in this line, this option offers less cushioning. If you prefer a plush feel, the thicker variants might suit you better. This model is ideal for those who want a firm, compact surface. Ensure your room has enough vertical space if you have high bedside tables. The CertiPUR-US certification confirms the foam meets safety standards. This makes it a reliable choice for budget-conscious buyers seeking a simple, no-fuss sleep surface.
Check before you buy

- Check that your room has enough height for the 6-inch profile
